Father's Shoes

Sadly we lost this stamp set, Dapper Dad, when it went out with the last catalogue but I know many of you have the set so I thought you might like to see this card. The "Father" greeting is from Amazing Family which does appear in the current catalogue.
I made it at a team training run by Amanda Fowler, we used rich razzleberry and an embossing folder for the background and cut out the marina mist shoes.

Butterflies and scallops

The Spring and Summer seasonal catalogue also comes to an end this month so if you still have things on your wish list then now is the time to order them.
One product that was introduced in this catalogue and will continue in the new annual catalogue is the Simply Scored Borders Plate.  The designs coordinate with many of the die cut shapes and stamps.
On this card there is an embossed border along the bottom, a scalloped edge which echoes the scallop circle sitting behind the central butterfly.

Snowflake

Did I show you this one? I was helping out at the Stampin Up stand at the Sandown craft show last month and this card was one that we demonstrated during the day.
It makes great use of the Bigshot as we have not only a dotty embossed background but also the beautiful snowflake die.  The greeting is from Greetings of the Season, each of the stamps in this set is a different font and all are perfect for your Christmas cards. Add a little bling with some rhinestones and 3d mount your snowflake.

Sandown Make and Take Christmas card

Isn't this pretty? This is the card that Amanda designed for our Make and Take at the Sandown craft show.  We had six ladies at a time, all day making this lovely Christmas card.
The colours are Bashful Blue, Marina Mist and Chocolate Chip. We used the ornament punch and the Delightful decorations stamp set and embellished with ribbon and pearls.

Sea through the window

Another card form the Open sea set, this one took a little more time to create because of the shaped layers.  The top two layers have been cut using the top note die in the Big Shot, we first cut in one direction and then turned it through 90 degrees which created the squarer shape. The bottom layers of First Edition designer paper and the chocolate chip layer, which has been stamped, have been cut using the framelit dies. However, only one end of the paper has been shaped which gives a great window shape.

Sea squared

Now this is a great template that could be used for many different stamp sets and occasions.  The images have been stamped onto First Edition designer paper as well as plain coloured card stock and cut using the square punch.

Sail away

Here's the first card from the Open Seas boxed set.  I love the simple colour scheme of Chocolate chip and Marina mist. This stamp set has such an "olde worlde" elegance, perfect for the gentlemen in your life (or the pirate!).

Bordering on Romance

Hello, I'm back from a fabulous weekend away crafting :) I will share what I made later in the week but for now I have a card using the lovely Bordering on romance stamp set that is available from Stampin' Up's  current mini catalogue.
The image has been stamped and coloured with blender pens or you could use watercolours for an even softer effect, hmm I may have a go with that later on. I used the embossing frames around the image and cut it out, I haven't used the frames much yet but I like this effect. Now, do you like my bow? I so struggle with tying a neat bow sometimes it can be a bit hit and miss but Amanda showed me a new technique. I punched a hole in the base card and threaded my ribbon around the card and through the hole before tying the bow. Neat huh!

Open Seas

I have a feeling that this is a stamp set that you might see quite a lot of. I have already used it several times and keep coming back to it.  The Open Sea has quite a vintage feel I think and so for this card I made use of that and distressed my papers a little.  The colour combination of Crumb Cake and Marina Mist is one I use a lot too but it works so well!

Flight of the Butterfly

This stamp set has been on my wish list forever and it's another set that has a coordinating punch to go with it.
My daughter turned 18 in March but for various reasons we couldn't hold her party until mid April and Oh what a great night it was. Lots of family and friends joined us to celebrate and we all danced the night away to the wonderful A-band-on-ship who did indeed abandon their ship for the evening to entertain us.
However, I digress!  Back to the card.  Of course Alice had many thank-yous to send and this, along with yesterdays card, was one of the designs that I made.  This version uses a designer paper that retired from the Stampin' Up! catalogue last year but you could use any coordinating paper to create a similar version.  My colours were Rose red and Marina Mist which are echoed in the dsp and the butterfly is punched and 3d mounted for definition.

Variation on a theme

Day 3 : this is very similar to a card I have shown you before.  I love the Sail Away image and stamped in white onto a card of crumb cake and marina mist works perfectly.  The sentiment is stamped on a blue banner in both ink colours and is from the Sincere Salutations stamp set.

Blue, blue Christmas

Okay I'm getting fed up of upside down photos now :(

A different colour scheme but the same stamp set, Contempo Christmas.  Another CASE'd card but who would want to make changes to this one?!
Marina mist cardstock and papers from Elegant Soiree; the image is stamped in Marina Mist and Daffodil Delight ink.  I used the marker pens to ink the stamp so that the image is dual coloured.

Pillow Box

Morning! How's the weather today?  I have to confess I cheated and scheduled this to post while I'm at work today.  I have such a busy few days ahead, I have an interview as a volunteer for the London Olympics this afternoon, prep for card club to do tomorrow oh and collection of my costumes for next weeks show and then Saturday is a visit to Birmingham with my daughter to look at the university.  On Sunday we get to the theatre for the last couple of rehearsals before opening night on Wednesday.  So you may not see much of me next week.
But back to today's offering, we made this at card club last month but I first did this at the Girl Guiding event I did in March.  The card stock is So Saffron and I inked boho blossoms in the same colour.  I added some butterflies in Marina mist ink and 3d mounted a marina butterfly and boho blossoms cut of course with their matching punches, so much easier and lovely to have an exact match. The Thanks sentiment is again stamped in Marina mist onto marina card and punched with the scalloped circle before being adhered to the matching satin ribbon.  Add a bit of bling with rhinestones and there you are!
