Who says you should stick a paper butterfly to a card?! This is my goddaughter's birthday cake, her mum used the butterfly punch with coloured rice paper for the finishing touches. I think it looks gorgeous and I bet it was tasty too :)

Under the Big Top

Here they are, more notelet cards. As before they use the Under the Big Top stamp set and Big Top Birthday designer paper. I coloured them with marker pens but left one uncoloured to see the effect. I can't decide which I like best.

Remember I told you about my nieces birthday last week? Now that she has received her present I can share her card here. I used the retired Celebration designer papers for the background and also for the bunting. To make the bunting I used my new Perfect Pennants punch, it makes it sooo easy! I added a little bling in the form of rhinestones and then the greeting which is from one of the new hostess gifts Happiest Birthday Wishes.

Yay!! A return to razzleberry for me today :) I made this card for my friends birthday last week. She moved away a couple of years ago so I was delighted when she decided to hold a birthday bash in her old stomping ground.
So, razzleberry card, striped grosgrain ribbon and ink. The stamps are from one of the new hostess sets Posy Punch and I used the rock and roll technique to give the flowers a lighter pinker centre then used the big flower punch to cut them out easily.

Here it is at last, the final card from the boxed set. All the colours from the colour pallette of Teatime simply scrappin feature on this one. I do love the medallion on the backing paper I think it may be time for me to invest in the medallion background stamp! The greeting is from Petite pairs therefore you will find the second half of the expression inside the card.

Elegant in its simplicity, this is one of the quickest cards I have ever made I think! The card stickers are again from Teatime simply scrappin. The tag is matted onto some coordinating early espresso card and embellished with limeade ruffled ribbon and an antique brad. A beautiful punched lace border at the bottom complimented by the insert which is stamped with the new Delicate Doilies set.

I must just wish my niece a very happy 10th birthday today, I will share her card over the weekend cos I don't want her to see it here before I have a chance to give it to her at her disco party tomorrow.

Here is another card from last weekend's boxed set. Again from Teatime Simply Scrapping kit, I do love the colour combination of Early espresso, Lucky Limeade and Pink Pirouette. The sentiment is punched using the designer label punch and is attached using one of the new yummy antique brads.

Must dash, I have another card to make for a friends birthday party tonight. Now, what am I going to wear?!!

Just a quick visit from me today, I am busy at school decommissioning some equipment ready for moving!
Here is the first card from the box set, a square basecard in pink pirouette. The embellishments are from the Teatime Simply Scrappin set, all the stickers are card so they are lovely to use. More tomorrow :)

Box of Tricks

This is one of the projects that we made at Team Training with Amanda Fowler last Saturday, I love it! The box is made from a sheet of 12x12 Early Espresso textured cardstock and it holds 4 square cards. All the cards have been made using the Teatime Simply Scrapping kit, a product I haven't really made much use of before bit it made these cards so quick and easy that I am sure that I will be using the Scrap kits more often in future. The box was really quite simple to make you just need to make sure that all the score lines are in the right place and away you go, the decoration is simply a torn piece of card and a punched border and some of the new ruffled ribbon to finish. I think it would make a great gift.

Hello, I spent a wonderful day at Team training yesterday. I will share the projects we made iver the next couple of days. Todays picture though is of the little notebooks that I decorated for my own team members who came with me. They began life as plain notepads that you will find in any stationers but I covered them in coordinating Sunny Garden designer papers (sadly retired now). I added a strip of old olive grosgrain ribbon and a monogrammed scallop circle inked in old olive. I also prettied up some basic biros by sliding a piece of matching paper inside the tube. I hope they like them.

Trick or Treat!

Halloween doesn't feature hugely in my house these days as the kids are a little old for Trick or Treating and much more interested in visiting somewhere like Alton Towers for Scarefest, therefore I don't make many Halloween treats. This year however, a friend of mine gave me a couple of bags of Hershey chocolates to see what I could come up with and this is the result.
I kept it simple so that I could make several the same. I used my new milkcarton die for the Bigshot and some scrummy pumpkin pie cardstock. A strip of coordinating pumpkin paper from the designer paper pattern stack and a black card star.
Hopefully it will be treats all the way, keeping those mean tricks at bay.

Ladybird topper

Something a little bit different from me today. This little ladybird is sitting atop a pencil and is made from a collection of circles, cut using the Bigshot and cropodile, and a treat cup which holds the sweets. I think that next time I make some of these I will search out some googly eyes!!

Birthday Gift Card Holder.

Morning, Autumn is on the way isn't it :/ It will soon be half term and I can't wait, I really need the break from everything.
Anyway! does this look familiar? A little while ago I shared a Christmas Gift card, seen here and while I was making it I was thinking that it would also be a very useful design for those awkward teenage birthdays. My little cousin will be 15 next week and as I usually send him a gift card I thought I would dress it up a little this year.

This is what I have been busy making this week, I'm making about 30 of these ready for our team training day on Saturday. All the demonstrators in the Inspiring Inkees team swap their wonderful creations so that we can take away some inspiration.
I have used one of the new hostess gifts, Faith in Nature, and stamped the background of my card in matching ink with the leaf image. I then added a band, again in matching card, using the lace border punch. The focal point is the flower image stamped in bashful blue ink once more and punched using the largest circle punch. I daubed around the edge of the circle to add a little depth.
I am so looking forward to seeing what swaps I will receive in exchange, maybe I will get some inspiration for the swaps I need to make for convention, I will need to make maybe as many as two hundred for that!

Ribbon Flower Bookmark.

I first made one of these with my upline, the lovely Amanda Fowler but I loved it so much that I decided to share it with the wonderful ladies at Make. Do and Send card club.
I took 2 pieces of coordinating card, rich razzleberry and rose red and a piece of flowery designer paper and popped them through the big shot with the fun flowers die so that I ended up with 3 sets of flowers. I played about with the combinations for a little while until I had settled on which order I wanted them. I then assembled a shallow flower for the back of my bookmark, using a coordinating brad for the centre of my flower and adhering the ribbon on the back of the largest flower with lots of sticky strip. I stuck the other largest flower to the front of my ribbon and built up the remaining layers to create a huge flower. I curled some of the edges to ass interest and depth and again added a brad to the centre. The ribbon is long enough to save your page in any book and trimmed into shape at the end.

A quick visit today. Todays card is similar to an offering from the other day, same design but different image and paper. They are of course from the same stamp set, Party this way, and the same Celebrate designer papers. The balloons create a different look from the candles but the design still works well.

Baby Blossoms

A pretty birthday card today. The stamp set is Baby Blossoms from the summer mini, a two step stamp set and it is so pretty. I used marker pens from the subtles series to ink up the stamps, a light colour for the base layer of each flower and then a toning darker colour for the detail. Once all the flowers and leaves were in place I used the textured embossing folder in the big shot. This folder is great, it makes your paper look and feel like a piece of fabric. I matted onto Baja breeze and then onto the card base of rose red. I also used rose red ink for the greeting (sincere salutations stamp set) and the frame which I then 3d mounted over the top of an organza ribbon sash.

Luxury Layers

This is a bit of a departure for me, not my usual style of card at all. The black base card has been run through the big shot in a polka dot embossing folder then I layered different pieces of Love Letter designer paper (now retired) together with a sash of striped grosgrain ribbon. I stamped the medallion from Artistic Etchings and layered it onto a scallop punched circle, which I had daubed with silver shimmer paint. A touch of bling from some rhinestones and voila!

Today's card is from last months Make, Do and Send Card club. The "Celebrate" papers are now sadly retired but the stamp set, Party this way, lives on; I'm very glad about that 'cos I love it.
I took the cue for colours from the designer paper and stamped the candles in red, pear pizazz and bashful blue. The sentiment was punched from card in those colours too.

Morning all, what happened to our heatwave then huh?! It's very definitely Brrrrr round here today.
This is the last card I have to share from my All Occasions class, can you guess which occasion it might be?! I would probably use it for Valentines Day but it could be used for an anniversary too I think.
Rose red card stock, designer paper and ink with stamps from the I [heart] Hearts set. This stamp set is still part of Stampin Up's excellent value starter kit and if you join me during October then there are extra freebies for you too!
I need to get back to making my swaps for the forthcoming team training day on the 15th now. More tomorrow :)

An offering from the 2010-11 in-colours today. You gotta love concord crush and it goes so well with pear pizazz. The in-colour designer paper pattern stack was one of the hostess gifts last year and I used it here to make the balloons. I used a technique called paper piecing; I stamped the image on the card and then again on the designer paper. I cut the image out from the paper and "pieced" it onto the card. The sentiment is from sincere salutations and punched using the decorative label punch. I daubed around the edge in concord ink to soften the edges

Ollie Owl

I sometimes wonder if I create anything original at all, all my offerings lately seem to have been copied or at least inspired by other people's gorgeous creations and this one is no exception, it was a swap I received at team training.
I have named this owl Ollie as while I was waiting for the photo to upload I remembered the soft toy I had as a small child. He was a white owl but I remember he went everywhere with me and became very dogeared in the end.
The colour combination for this card is Rich Razzleberry, Pretty in Pink, Whisper white and Early Espresso. The base card was run through the Big shot in the polka dot embossing folder, the pink scallop circle was also cut with the big shot and edged with razzleberry ink to add some depth. I punched the owl in cardstock and in designer paper stack so that he could have a snazzy waistcoat and then 3d mounted him. The greeting is from sincere salutations and is stamped in razzleberry ink.

Bright and cheery isn't it!! The flourish from Baroque motifs is stamped in Pumpin pie ink onto pumpkin card to make a subtle background. I then used the crimper at the top, bottom and across the centre of the card to add interest and then the sentiment was punched out with the decorative label punch.

Day 4: Do you have teenagers to buy for at Christmas? I do and it can be really difficult to find them something suitable. I first made something very similar to this with my lovely upline Amanda and it is just so perfect to jazz up those boring gift voucher cards that I thought I would share it with the ladies at my own class.
It is made using the bigshot and the topnote die btu making it as a folded card. The Jolly Holiday designer paper makes the pocket on the front for the gift card to slide into and then it is decorated with a fower from the 5 petal punch. some ribbon and a little bling. The greeting is again from Sincere Salutations

Day 3 : this is very similar to a card I have shown you before. I love the Sail Away image and stamped in white onto a card of crumb cake and marina mist works perfectly. The sentiment is stamped on a blue banner in both ink colours and is from the Sincere Salutations stamp set.

Butterfly Scallops

Day two of the cards from the All Occasions class. The card is CASE'd from a swap I received a while ago at a team training day but this is a colour combination I haven't tried before, you have to love the Color Coach it gives you some great ideas and pushes you out of your comfort zone a little with some great combinations. The colours are Wild wasabi for the card base, Perfect plum for the scallops and the greeting and So Saffron for the butterfly image and the mat. The background stamp is en Francais, the image is from Strength and Hope and the greeting from Sincere salutations, I love that font!

Those of you who came to the All Occasions workshop last weekend will recognise these, I had a great day and hope you did too. I intend to share the cards that we made over the next few days rather than swamp you with everything at once.
Bashful blue and Pink pirouette lend themselves beautifully to baby cards and of course we made one in each colourway in order to be ready for when the next baby makes it's appearance. We used the Baby tees jumbo wheel, inked in matching bashful blue or pink pirouette, for the background. Then we used it again on a scrap piece of white card; we could then decide which design we liked best to make a focal point. Coloured with markers then cut out and matted onto another piece of whisper white and espresso card with a little sponge daubing to soften the edges. A sash of organza ribbon to finish. Perfect to welcome a new arrival.

It will make some smashing borders for both cards and scrapbook pages but it can be used in so many other ways too. The stamps are Everything Eleanor again and I just adore the way the flower works so well with the flourish as a stem.

I don't have a card for you today, I am a bit busy playing taxi. It was Charlie's 15th birthday earlier this week, I know I don't look old enough for my baby to be 15 but it's true!! Today is his borthday outing and we are taking him and a few friends off to Bracknell to Go Ape! It's a high ropes adventure course and we've been lookingforward to it all week. Hopefully I will post some photos here later and of course I have more cards for you tomorrow.

I do love the colour combinations of this card, another we made at team training last week. I think the chocolate, coffee and cream tones will be a trend for me over the coming months. As before, the stamp set is Everything Eleanor. The flourish on the background is inked in Early espresso. The greeting is set off by adding a single rhinestone. I think this design could be used for a number of occasions simply by changing the sentiment.

Today I have a card to share that we made at team training last week. We used a stamp set that is from the new catalogue, released on 1 October so you are getting a sneek peek of a product that isn't yet available to buy but not long to wait thank goodness! The base card is made using the large scallop circle die in the Bigshot, the colour is Wisteria Wonder, one of the new In-colours for 2011-13 isn't it gorjuss!!! We embossed it, again using the bigshot, and dusted over the embossing with shimmer paint which gives it a gorgeous lustre. The stamps are from the new catalogue too, called Everything Eleanor. I think I will be getting a lot of use from this set.

I thought I would give you just one little preview of what you can expect if you are coming to my All Occasions class next weekend. This is just one of the many cards we will make, I hope it whets your appetite. The background is from the designer paper stack in Baja Breeze. The Wedding wheels image is stamped in matching ink, as is the sentiment. I used the scallop border punch to create the pretty edging for the image and finished off with a large bow of whisper white organza ribbon.

I've been so busy the last few days that I have neglected my blog :( Last week I was busy making card fronts ready for swapping at Stampin' Up's regional training day. I had a great time and came away very inspired and raring to go and I also received some very wonderful swaps that will inspire my own cards and classes for some time to come. Since the weekend I have been busy preparing for the All Occasions card class that I am running on Saturday and also for Make, Do and Send card club which is the following Thursday. There are bits of card and ribbon all over the place at the moment, I love it! :)
The card above is the last one from August's Make, Do and Send club and is also what I used for my swaps last weekend. I had a bit of a panic when I ran out of poppy card but a fellow Stampin up demo came through for me and gave me some last Wednesday at team training. Which reminds me that I have some cards to share from that night too! The card is made entirely using the Bigshot dies, there is no ink whatsoever! The baja breeze base card and poppy red topnote for the background with the fun flower die using designer stack papers in poppy for the accent. I added a dash of whisper white organza ribbon and a pearl or two and voila!
The last chance list is still running on the Stampin Up! website. Christmas Jingle simply scrapping kit has joined the items that are now gone forever as has Night of Navy satin ribbon. It's sad to see these things go but I am so excited to be able to share the new catalogue with you shortly, there are lots of lovely new things, I can't wait!

I love, love, love this stamp set, Artistic etchings. We made this card at Make, Do and Send card club last month but I can't take any credit at all for the design. It is a shameless copy of a card that I made at one of Amanda's classes a while ago. Sadly the newsprint papers will be retiring at the end of this month but I do believe there might be a similar replacement coming in the new catalogue ;)
I've had another busy week! Yesterday I spent a wonderful evening, along with my two newest team members at a team training event. We made 5 cards in a couple of hours which I will share with you over the next few days as I photograph them. I have also been making lots of swaps in readiness for Saturday's regional training event, speaking of which I had better get back to making them or I won't have enough to share!

We made this at last months Make, Do and Send card club, it's one of the most easy peasy cards ever! Daffodil delight card with a background of Concord crush designer paper. The images are from the Greenhouse Garden stamp set, one of my favourites. A two step techinique is used to give the flowers dimension, the first background layer in the lighter daffodil delight ink and then the detail in concord crush ink. Easy! :)

I know...it's been a while since I shared a card with you...what can I say. This is a colour combination that I rarely use but it works very well with the hedgehog image I think. Sadly the hedgehog is from Fun, fast notes, a stamp set which will be retiring at the end of September but I am sure there will be something lovely to replace it. The colours I have used will be remaining however. Peach parfait is one of our current in-colours and we will have it for another year and the sumptuous Early espresso is just gorgeous and goes so well with so many of our colours.
I have another card for you tomorrow but in the meantime just to keep you up to date there are another two items that are now gone forever: the Right on Track standard stampin around wheel and the lovely background stamp Sanded.

I've been making some cards this afternoon!!!! Don't faint, I know it's been a little while since I posted any projects, sorry. There is still a little problem with sharing them with you though and that is that I haven't been able to take any photos yet. Today Stampin Up UK have announced which products will not be continuing into the new catalogue which is released on October 1st. It's sad of course to say goodbye to some of my favourite stamps and accessories but also so exciting as it will make way for lots of new wonderful products. I can't wait :)

I've been trying to clear out some of the stash that I have accumulated over the years. There is rather a lot of it :/ I found these cards that I had bought a couple of years ago and realised that I haven't done any Iris folding for ages! I thought this design would be perfect for my parents anniversary next month, so for once I am organised way ahead of time!! I am in the process of making a couple more now which I will share tomorrow.

What a great way of using up all those scraps of designer paper that we just can't bear to throw away! Using Old Olive as the base card we added a strip of cherry cobbler along the bottom and various squares of jolly holiday designer paper. A trimming of ribbon and a Christmas message and voila! Another quick make from our team training day.

I love this card! Lovely and simple and quick to make but beautiful too! Another project from team training and one that I will unashamedly copy for my own classes (thanks Amanda :) ). The colour combination is the classic old olive, cherry cobbler and vanilla and uses the Jolly Holiday designer papers too along with a touch of satin ribbon for trimming. The embellishments are created using Stampin ups Bauble punch and label punch and uses the contempo christmas stamps for the message. The card could be varied by placing the elements differently or by using different designs from the paper pack.

Snowman Box

Cute isn't he! Another project from team training day. This cute little box is made from a scored rectangle to make the base of the box and 3 top note die cuts, one in cherry cobbler which is cut in half lengthways and 2 in white. The two white topnotes are stuck front and back of the box with the two halves of cherry making up the hat. A strip of cherry makes the brim of his hat and then some tiny black circles punched from Stampin Ups owl punch and a tiny triangle of pumpkin pie for his carroty nose. A hint of rosy cheeks is created by a daubing of pretty in pink ink.

Noel - Christmas Bunting

This is what mine is going to look like when I've finished making it! The bunting was one of the projects at our Stampin Up team training day recently and this is the lovely Amanda holding up her sample.
I think the bunting looks amazing and will look great in my house at Christmas and it really isn't that difficult to create. The designer paper pennant triangles are from Jolly Holiday and are matted onto cherry cobbler. Then each pennant is trimmed with vanilla card that has been edged with the scallop border punch. The letters have been inked in old olive and then crystal effects to give them that gorgeous glossy shine. The letters are then placed onto vanilla circles and cherry scalloped circles. We used the cropodile to make holes in the corners and to set the jumbo eyelets and the whole thing is joined together with some old olive satin ribbon. Of course you could make much longer bunting and use different words, hmmm I've got an 18th birthday in the family next year I might make some in a different colour scheme for that!

Tree Baubles

This is a really simple card to make. I took the idea from Stampin up's catalogue where they have made a similar scrapbook page.
Using the Jolly Holiday papers I punched a series of Bauble shapes and layered them on the card front in the shape of a tree. The tree pot is made from a short piece of striped grosgrain ribbon and the bow at the top is also old olive narrow grosgrain ribbon. Simples ! :)

Marina mist cardstock and papers from Elegant Soiree; the image is stamped in Marina Mist and Daffodil Delight ink. I used the marker pens to ink the stamp so that the image is dual coloured.

A second offering from my Christmas in July class, I CASE'd this one from a class I took a couple of years ago keeping it almost exactly the same apart from adding some sparkle in the form of Dazzling Diamonds glitter around the edge of one of the baubles. The stamps are all from Contempo Christmas and the paper is from Jolly Holiday, the bauble in the foreground is 3d mounted and curled slightly to give some more dimension.

Yeah I know, Christmas is months away but it's never too early to get started on your Christmas cards and that's just what we did a couple of weeks back when we made a batch of 18 cards all ready for the big day. The colour palette for the day was Old Olive, Cherry Cobbler and Very Vanilla; all traditional Christmas colours, we also used the Jolly Holiday designer papers.
This is the first one and the one that proved trickiest to make, not that it's difficult just a little fiddly in places. We began with a base card of olive and punched out a circle. Two slightly smaller circles were punched from vanilla card stock and, using a versamark inkpad, Stampin up heat and stick powder and some Dazzling diamonds glitter, were decorated with a sparkling snowflake from the Serene Snowflakes stamp set. These two circles were then glued back to back but with a short length of thread between them. Placing the circles within the larger hole in the green card the thread was stretched tight and held in place by the decorative papers so that when you stand the card up the disk spins freely. A touch of vanilla grosgrain ribbon and a greeting from Contempo Christmas stamps to finish it off.

I can't believe I forgot to share my news with you!! I got promoted :) Stampin up were running an extra incentive between March and the end of June promising free product to demo's who met the criteria to promote. Well I did it, by the skin of my teeth but I did, and I am now eagerly awaiting a parcel of freebie goodies.
Even better, there is another incentive running for demonstrators at the moment which I am also on schedule to complete by the end of July. So I may be awaiting another freebie parcel next month!!! Woohoo!!!!

Plane simple

Look familiar?? This is the one that I copied for my Make, Do and Send club last month btu in a different colourway. Not sure which I prefer and I may try it in different colours yet.
I wont bore you with all the details again it's too close to the end of term and we are all tired I'm sure. Personally I can't wait to break up this year, I seem to have been sooooo busy I really need a break. Not that I will get one initially :/ I am off to Scout Summer camp for the first week of the hols which is hard work but great fun. Keep your fingers crossed for reasonable weather please I hate camping in monsoons!
I will try and schedule some posts to appear here while I am away, I have some to share from my Christmas in July class and some projects from team training day too.

Plain Sailing

A perfect card for the men in our life, especialy those partial to a bit of messing about on the water! This is number 4 in the series. We used Stampin Up's Whisper white craft ink for this one, stamped onto crumb cake card stock. You have to be a little careful with this ink as it takes a little longer to dry but the effect is just lovely. The image was matted onto the pacific point card and a greeting was added in the form of a strip along the bottom of the card. This was attached using the jumbo eyelets and the ever funky cropodile, one of my favouritest tools ever!

Card number 3 from the boxed set! Now this is a very versatile design, we used Stampin up's Every Little bit set any one of which fits perfectly inside the circle and scallopped circle punches. Therefore it could be made to fit any occasion at all :). The designer paper background is from Blueberry crisp as before and a few rhinestones added for dimension.

Card number 2 from the boxed set. I like this one, simple but effective. Just a strip of Blueberry crisp paper, a 3D'd greeting and a punched butterfly to embellish. The flourishes in the corners have been inked in pacific point to match the base card and don't forget the rhinestone to add some bling :)

Aaarrggghhh!!! Another upside down photo, sorry. Todays card is from the boxed set. A Pacific Point blue base card and Blueberry crisp designer papers. We used the Top note die and Big Shot with the designer paper and embellished it with the leaves (another Big shot die) and a flower made from SU's 5 petal punch; the inner part of the flower is another 5 petal flower but folded in on itself to create a beautiful 3d flower. A pearl in the flower centre just finishes it off.

Gift Cards

Isn't this a brilliant idea? I love it! A blank dvd style box decorated beautifully and filled with cards. This is the last project that I made with Amanda and it's one that I hope to replicate at my own classes in the future.
Decorating the box is dead easy, just a piece of Blueberry crisp dsp cut to size. Then we added a label to the bottom at the front using a circle punch and letters. I called mine "Cards" original huh! but you could call it anything appropriate.
Inside the box I attached a length of ribbon each side with sticky strip for strength so that the cards can be tied in place. Then all was left to do was make the 5 cards that live inside.
I'll share those over the next few days :)

Christmas gift bag

I'm not really here today, I'm at a Stampin Up team training day in Fareham. I love team training 'cos I get to meet up with lots of other lovely demonstrators and we share lots of tips and ideas. One of the highlights for me is swapping card and gift ideas and these are my swaps.

I made them from brown paper lunch bags. I cut off the handles and then tidied up the edge using the scallop border punch. You can't see it very in the photo but I have stamped all over the bag with Merry Christmas from Season of Joy stamp set. I then added a mat of Jolly holiday papers, folded over the top of the bag and punched a circle through both layers. I punched tags in vanilla and cherry cobbler, again stamping merry christmas in cherry on the vanilla tag. I daubed more cherry ink around the edge of the vanilla tag and then attached both tags through the hole in the bag using old olive sating ribbon.
The finished bag is big enough to hold a dvd so I can see me making some more of these as the big day approaches! Hope the other demos like them.

Oh my! Summer camp is now only one week away!!! Only 7 more sleeps!!!! Sooooo much to do still where I am going to find time????
I really ought to stop over using punctuation :S It really isn't very good grammar.

So, the menu and programme are finalised but I have shopping lists to make and before I can do that I need to work out how many people are on site each day so that I can be sure to buy the right amount of food. Then I need to make sure that there's enough mony in the budget.
I need to find some more rainy day activities - I have karaoke and paper fan ping pong but that isn't going to keep 20 teenagers occupied for very long is it!

Then there's all the packing! Fortunately I can leave most of the hard stores to the Scout Leaders and just give them a list of things not to forget. However, there is all of our personal packing to be done and if I don't supervise the kids then they won't have the right stuff.

Oh and mustn't forget the cats!

Grrrrr!! I don't believe it! Another photo that I don't seem to be able to rotate :( You will just have to turn your computer monitor upside down I'm afraid until I can fix it.

This is the second of the projects that I made with Amanda the other week. I think it could be the result of her attempts to organise me :S
We began with a piece of 12x12 card and covered it with Blueberry crisp dsp. A second piece of dsp was added so that it sat halfway up but it was only stuck on 3 sides so that it formed a large pocket. Then another similar layer takes the bottom third, again only stuck on 3 sides to form a pocket. The two tiny pockets on the front are made from Stampin Up's scallop envelope Big Shot die. I also used the Big Shot to cut the letters so I could add my name to the top. A piece of Ribbon strung through eyelets which were set using a cropodile as a finishing touch and means that it can hang in my hallway in an effort to keep me more organised :)

A couple of weeks back, the week I was in Anything Goes as it happens, I was able to join Amanda and some other members of the team down in Fareham for a day of stamping fun. Amanda put this day on as a reward for everyone in her team who had recruited so far this year and as Val joined me in the spring then I was eligible.
It was a lovely day, I met a few people from the Inspiring Inkees that I hadn't met before, including a girl who had been to my school!! Small world.
Anyway, I digress, Amanda had laid on a few projects for us to try and this gorgeous little box was the first that I attempted. Believe it or not it is made from Stampin Up's milk carton die! 4 of them to be exact and I did have to cut them up a bit but doesn't it look pretty!

The colour palette for the whole day was Pacific Point and Very Vanilla and the designer papers were Blueberry crisp. The box was decorated with strips of the designer paper and flowers made from the 5 petal punch

Oh dear, something's wrong here but I can't seem to fix it. This photo is upside down! On my computer I have turned it round but when I upload it to blogger it's always upside down again! How's that work ??? Fortunately this design can turn almost anyway up (just as well really!)
I have to confess that I was a little concerned about this one, I'm just not sure about the colour scheme of So Saffron and Certainly Celery, maybe I would be happier if it was brighter colours; the ladies at Make Do and Send liked it so that was ok.
I punched a star out of the whisper white base card and mounted it onto the celery base card then, using the Seeing Stars stamp set, stamped it all over with a mixture of saffron and celery stars. For a bit of dimension I punched out some more stars from Saffron designer paper, 3d mounted them and added a few rhinestones.

Another offering from last month's Make, Do and Send club but this one has been CASE'd from a fellow Stampin Up! demonstrator. That's one of the great things about SU, noone minds when you Copy And Share Everything :) I did change the colour scheme slightly however, I used Poppy Parade designer paper which is one of 2011's In colors and crum cake card and ink. The stamps are from the Plane Handling set which is one of my favourites, maybe because planes are so much part of our family life. The last card from card club tomorrow :)

Embossed Roses

Morning all, I am finally beginning to catch up with myself. Today I have a card that we made at Make, Do and Send card club at the end of June, Yes I am THAT far behind :(
This technique is so simple but it looks so effective. Take a piece of Stampin Up whisper white card and insert it into the Manhattan Flower embossing folder which previously has been inked by simply rubbing with an inkpad. Run the folder through the Big Shot and the paper comes out both embossed and inked all in one go!! clever huh! I then trimmed around the roses and mounted it onto coordinating Pretty pink card and added a sentiment. More tomorrow :)

Tickle Me Elmo!!

Everyone loves Elmo don't they? Well I know I do, so, when I found that it was easy to make my own in card form using the Bigz circle scallop dieand my Big Shot, I thought I would share it with the ladies who are coming to my Make, Do and Send Card club tonight. I attached two real red scallops together to make the card and then used lots of punched circles in various colours to make his face. I reckon that some of the other Sesame St characters could be made this way too.

It's Opening Night of Spotlight's production of "Anything Goes" !!! OMG!!!! This is the card I made to express both my thanks to the cast for having such a no hoper in the gang and also to wish everyone the best of luck.
The base card is Daffodil delight and Certainly Celery with a layer of Stampin up designer paper in there too, I used the watercolour crayons and an aqua brush to colour the image.

I do like a bit of Black and White, it has a simple elegance I think and as I have a fair bit of black and white card I think I may ake a few more of these! The stamp set is Artistic etchings, all stamped in basic black onto whisper white card. I used the topnote die in my big shot to create the centrepiece trimming the edge from the white one to create the black mat. Finished off with some Stampin Up striped grosgrain ribbon.

Morning! How's the weather today? I have to confess I cheated and scheduled this to post while I'm at work today. I have such a busy few days ahead, I have an interview as a volunteer for the London Olympics this afternoon, prep for card club to do tomorrow oh and collection of my costumes for next weeks show and then Saturday is a visit to Birmingham with my daughter to look at the university. On Sunday we get to the theatre for the last couple of rehearsals before opening night on Wednesday. So you may not see much of me next week.
But back to today's offering, we made this at card club last month but I first did this at the Girl Guiding event I did in March. The card stock is So Saffron and I inked boho blossoms in the same colour. I added some butterflies in Marina mist ink and 3d mounted a marina butterfly and boho blossoms cut of course with their matching punches, so much easier and lovely to have an exact match. The Thanks sentiment is again stamped in Marina mist onto marina card and punched with the scalloped circle before being adhered to the matching satin ribbon. Add a bit of bling with rhinestones and there you are!

Origami Shirt

I think something similar to this may be my Father's Day card this year but it could equally be used for a birthday. We did this at card club too; the folded shirts aren't nearly as difficult as they look and make an effective topper for your card don't you think?

I used copier paper for the shirt, stamped both sides and then run through the Big Shot in a textured embossing folder before folding into the shirt shape. It is matted onto some Pear Pizazz designer paper and Pumpkin Pie and mounted onto Crumb Cake card stock. The sentiment is stamped in matching Pumpkin ink, punched and 3d mounted.

Lots of Scallops

I finally began my own card club last month and this is one of the cards that we made; I'll share the others over the next few days. The stamps are from Fun Fast notes, the words are stamped in razzleberry ink to match the cardstock and the image stamp was coloured with markers. The card stock is Rich Razzleberry the image is 3d mounted onto a scalloped circle and I used the scallop border to edge the vertical strip. The Pretty in pink papers are from the designer paper series.

Baby Cake

I made this baby cake for friends who have recently had their first baby. It's not a good picture I'm afraid and the cake has a bit of a list which I did correct before giving it to them honest. The cake is made up of nappies and baby gifts arranged in the form of a three tier cake and tied with some Stampin up ribbon. It didn't turn out quite as I had hoped but fortunately they loved it anyway :)

A Commission!

I've been commissioned! That doesn't happen often I can tell you. Although it's an order from my husband for an organisation he is involved with (does that still count?). In typical husband fashion he has asked me to "knock up" 30 of these by Thursday! I told him that he can have a few but I have to order supplies so he will have to wait for the complete order however, if Stampin Up are their usual efficient selves then I may well have the order by Thursday.
The invitations are very simple; whisper white card for the base with a razzleberry topnote diecut which is in turn topped with a white topnote diecut that has been trimmed to fit inside creating a neat border. The printing on the card coordinates perfectly with the razzleberry ink daubed around the edge of the topnote and the whole thing is finished off with a band of razzleberry grosgrain ribbon which holds the insert in place.
More cards to follow later in the week from my card class which I held last week.

There's really no excuse for not blogging for so long but I do have several :/ The loss of my camera lead being a major reason...it makes it so hard to upload photos! Also, I seem to have been mega busy lately that I've not really made very many cards to share with you; we've had Ofsted in at school, I've been rehearsing very hard for Spotlight's new show Anything Goes (details above) which is now only 3 weeks away!!! Oh my goodness I hope I have the dance routines locked into my head by then. I've also been working quite hard at my Stampin Up business. I held my first card club this week, just a small start with 7 participants but I think it will grow. All the ladies seemed to enjoy it and we now have plans for another card club at the end of this month and requests for a day of Christmas card making and also for a Scrap day :)
Talking of Stampin Up; They launched a promotion this week which gives all hostesses an extra £20 to spend in the catalogue when they hold a workshop with a minimum of £250 sales so that means my hostesses can earn a free hostess stamp set and have £45 to spend in the catalogue!

Twisted Easel Card

I'm quite pleased with this one, my inspiration was a card which we made at Amanda's last workshop, it's called a twisted easel style card because of the way it stands. I have to confess, I pinched the colour combination of whisper white, pretty in pink and rich razzleberry from Amanda too; it was one of the cards that we did as a make and take at the Brighton show. The stamps are from a current Stampin Up hostess set, I stamped the hydrangea in razzleberry ink and used a blender pen to colour it in. I also used the tiny flower from that set on the back of the card, The background stamp, en francais, is stamped in pretty in pink. A touch of razzleberry ribbon and a sentiment raised on a dimensional completes the card.

I'm going to use this at a workshop I am doing at the weekend along with a pillow box project.

What a weekend!! I've been in Brighton at the ICHF Hobbycraft fair helping out at the Stampin Up stand. We were running a make and take table every half hour where people could join us to make a lovely card using the Bliss stamp set from the current Saleabration promo. I met lots and lots of lovely people and had great fun all weekend, hopefully I will meet some of them again at workshops or classes. I'm off to put my feet up now...all in the name of recovery you understand! Later I will make a start on my thankyou cards, I'll post some here tomorrow for you.

Altered Clipboard

I'm off to the Hobbycraft show at Brighton this weekend to help out on Amanda's Stampin Up stand. Please say Hi if you're there too. Anyway, I digress, Amanda gave us a clipboard to decorate and this is what I did with mine, it was bright blue plastic before I started. The first picture shows the back, I covered it with papers from the Newsprint and Designer papers stacks, then added my name in board letters upon which I used a base of white craft ink and then stamped in razzleberry ink with a circle stamp from the Circle Circus set. I also stamped the flourish from the Saleabration Bliss set in Razzleberry and sponged ink around the edges. The flowers are paper daisies which I sponged with ink, I added a touch of bling with rhinestones for pearls for their centres. The second photo is the front of my board, I needed to keep the hole thing flatter because I will need to write on this side after all. Again, I covered it in razzleberry card then I added a strip of very vanilla which I had stamped with the So Swirly wheel and also a larger piece of vanilla card which has the flourish stamps from the Bliss set once again. There is a narrow piece of vanilla grosgrain ribbon around the edge of the board and lots of ribbon in whisper white, very vanilla and old olive to add some luxury

February Sunshine

I had to go a long way up to find it but there was some glorious sunshine up there on my way home from Dusseldorf yesterday. I've been on an all expense paid trip to Germany to take part in some market research on new mpv cars. It was very interesting and exciting but I'm sworn to secrecy, security was so tight that we had to leave behind all bags, phones, cameras and even watches and money. I had a lovely tour of Dusseldorf too as part of the trip and took lots of photos that I shall make in to scrap pages eventually. Something a little more urgent is on my craft table this week though...it's the Brighton Hobbycraft show this weekend and I still have some samples to make and decorate my clipboard.

Boy Band

People do some very strange things at weddings don't they! These pictures are from a family wedding last October and as you can imagine the timing of them is fairly late into the evening! I began with a rose red textured card stock base and added a half torn page of rose red paper from the designer paper patterns stack. The photos were matted onto whisper white card, then I added various sized punched circles from the music print sheet from the Newsprint papers. The titling is made from punched whisper white circles and Vintage Type rub ons from Stampin Up.

These pictures were taken on one of our trips to Alton Towers last year, Sonic was being extremely cheeky but posed beautifully with Charlie for me, I was really pleased with the other picture too, I waited for ages and ended up with pictures of lots of other people before my family came past on the Air rollercoaster.

The background paper is a Daffodil Delight dotty page from the designer paper patterns stack, the pictures are matted onto Daffodil Delight and Marina Mist card. The balloon stamp is from Stampin up's Crazy for Cupcakes and are 3D mounted. The f u n letters are from On Board Alphabet Soup, I inked them in Whisper White craft ink to make a base for the coloured inks, I then made them Daffodil yellow and stamped over the top with a bubbly stamp from Circle Circus in Marina Mist ink.

Diamond and Pearls

Another picture from Alice's photoshoot, the girls had such a good time that day and we ended up with so many beautiful photographs. This one is so unusual that I needed to keep the page simple. So Saffron textured card for the base page upon which I used the So Swirly wheel with So Saffron ink across all four corners. Then for just a touch of elegance I added some tiny adhesive pearls to the swirls and in the two opposite corners.

I love this photograph and so I thought I would do it some real justice and print it off large! As the photo more than takes centre stage I thought I would keep the rest of the page quite simple. The dotty background is from the Elegant Soiree designer papers, the photo is matted onto crumb cake and early espresso card and then the hearts ( all from I (heart) hearts) are stamped in espresso ink onto crumbcake card, cut out and 3d mounted.

These pictures were taken on our favourite Cornish beach during a February half term break, hence the empty beach, it certainly doesn't look that empty in the summer! I love the way the sky is reflected on the wet beach.

The background page is a So Saffron coloured page from the designer stack once more; I used the so swirly wheel to ink the swirly design and the All in the Family stamp set to add the little people, so cute.

I think this is my favourite photo from Rachel and Alex's blessing so it definitely deserved to be scrapped for posterity don't you agree? The backing page is made from 2 pieces from the designer stack in Marina Mist blue, the photos are matted onto the same colour and I sponged the edges of the photo mats in marina mist ink. The two smaller photos are of details of the day that were so pretty I just had to snap them too and they make a lovely accompaniment to the main picture along with titling made from a scalloped punch. The ribbon, in which I "tied a knot" !!!, is whisper white of course, just right for wedding pictures.

Revisiting a photo I've scrapped before but treating it in a different way. The 12x12 page is from Stampin Up's Elegant Soiree designer papers in crumb cake. I laid my photo onto a piece of crumb cake card that I had stamped with Le Francais stamp in Early espresso ink, I matted it onto espresso card and added a piece of espresso ribbon. I like the jaunty angle so I continued that theme with my stamped flower accents. I used the twostep stamps from the Green garden stamp set, stamping in crumb cake and espresso ink and 3d mounted them with dimensionals. I made another page today using photo's from a family wedding in the autumn, I'll show you that tomorrow.

Scrappin'

It's been a long time since I made a page for my scrapbook but as I have been asked to contribute some pages as display samples for the stand at the Brighton Hobbycraft show I thought I'd better get cracking, I only have a couple of weeks left!
The photos are of the fireworks in London at New Year, all double matted onto whisper white and rich razzleberry cardstock. The background paper is also razzleberry and comes from the designer paper stack; I added some accent using ribbon along one edge and making a loopy bow. More tomorrow I hope.

Autumn Oak

Another poor photograph, sorry. I made the Oak Tree from the Lovely as a Tree set very autumnal looking using an aqua painter and the ink from my inkpads, Being very frugal I used up a scrap of background paper tearing down the diagonal and sticking to a wild wasabi card blank. I didn't mat the image today just added it directly to the card but I did add a splash more colour by using a yellow scallop punched greeting and a ribbon along the spine.

How cute are these two greedy mice mates?!! I stamped the image in Staz on ink so I could use my favourite watercolours again! Just a simple dotty background paper from Stampin up's paper stack and a touch of ribbon to complete.

The quality of this photo isn't very good I'm afraid, I will replace if I ever find a spare five minutes. I went back to those images I stamped and watercoloured a couple of weeks ago for this card. The fir tree this time, matted onto crumb cake and wild wasabi card and mounted onto a crumb cake base card. I also used one of the tiny stamps from the Lovely as a Tree set to stamp a background for the card. I added a scallop punched greeting in wasabi to finish it off.

A tiny touch of Spring

I don't know about you but I am getting very fed up with this weather, I want Spring to arrive and I want it now! I went digging through my stamps to find something a little more Springlike and rediscovered this one that I hadn't used for sometime. It's a retired Stampin Up set (I hate it when they retire my favourites :( ) It's so pretty, the girl is wistfully looking across the field enjoying the sunshine don't you think? Another watercoloured image cos this one definitely needs a soft focus then matted onto Marina Mist designer paper and card. A touch of ribbon and a scallopped oval punch and greeting.
